Animals in Need
How to respond when you encounter an animal that may be injured, sick, or distressed — calmly and safely.
Assess the Situation
- Is the animal moving normally?
- Is it alert, hiding, or unable to stand?
- Are there immediate dangers nearby?
If It’s Safe
- Keep others (and pets) at a distance.
- Take note of the exact location and time.
- If possible, take a clear photo without approaching.
Reporting Through Pawscue
- Share what you see, not assumptions.
- Location matters more than conclusions.
- Updates help helpers respond effectively.
Important Reminder
- Not every animal needs intervention.
- Observation and information are often the most valuable help.
